Assalamu aleikum,
Be Like A Shining Star by Stoori
I have been meaning to read the Quran for a few days now and yesterday I only managed to read a page in Arabic. Alhamdullilah ala kulli haal. But this morning I woke up thinking about catching up with many other reading commitments. I started with Be Like a Shining Star by Stoori Khan . And Allah is the best of planners.
Be Like A Shining Star is an Islamic collection of about forty poems inspired on many Quranic verses. Masha’Allah, it was perfect. I achieved two things in one reading; for ibadat and entertainment.
The poems and quotes cover almost any topic the Believer might face from love, temptation, hardship, patience etc. I found some a bit corny or melodramatic but overall, it was a wonderful reminder of the deen as we are supposed to do to those around us.
My rating: 3.5/5
Love is Pure by Stoori
Love is Pure by Stoori is also a collection of quotes and poems; seventy-two of them. I found many of the poems riveting and inspiring. That said, I also found some of them a bit too fairy tale like or fleeceable. Perhaps I had too many rude awakenings about love even though I’m a hopeless romantic. Overall, it’s a good read.
My rating : 3/5
