Assalamu aleikum bloggers,
For the longest time, I have fought a battle of lifestyle which is quitting my job or keeping it. And these highlighted posts along with hints of this struggle in all my writings or novels will vouch for that struggle I faced.
My spirituality has considerably increased over the last five years alhamdullilah and I have asked Allah to make me happy with my decision to quit whenever I decide to do it.
Well, guess what. It has been a little over a month now and I quit my prized job to homeschool , pursue my writing career I started in 2013, and maybe continue Accounting from home. Many companies are now starting to have accounting positions from home now and this is a sign that I can still have a career at home insha’Allah. Please keep me in your duas, amiin.
I’m also happy to say that I don’t regret walking away from a good source of income outside the home because my heart is in the right place and Allah is making me happy about that decision like I asked him masha’Allah. I’m also stress free and don’t feel like I have to answer to a boss. I’m my own boss now, lol!
I mean the stress dealing with work and a toddler, the current state of Muslims worldwide, and the school shootings all hastened that decision to quit for me. Many Muslims like me feel like the zone of comfort has been breached and judgements plague us like clockwise. May Allah protect us and guide us, amiin.
What do you think? Did I make the right decision to be a stay home mom and pursue other work opportunities from home? Please do let me know haha! 🙂
P.S. The content of Freedom Fighter has nothing to do with this post. Just thought the cover would depict my state of mind.
Jazak’Allah khair for reading,

I quit a good job to look after my children and work from home (accounting work and blogging) – 11 years ago – and I don’t regret it. You won’t regret it either – Insha Allah

Congratulations, Papatia! I think raising children is the most important job that adults have. I think a lot of the chaos in our world comes as a result of children lost to the work force. This may be old fashioned, but the world is changing so fast now, that children need support and wise training now more than ever. I pray that God will bless you in all of your new endeavors!

Wa’alaikumussalam, my lovely sister!
I’m sure you’ve chosen the best way for you, your child n your family. I have no doubt about that. Be a home mom is a great job, indeed! Besides that you said that you can find other jobs those related to your skills. Masha’Allah, lovely to hear! You’re a novelist, n accountant, these’re great skills. I think America has offered many online jobs with good salaries, 😊
May Allah always bless, guide n protect you, my love!
Ameen!
Much love for ya!
PS: I had ever been a home mom for 2 years. Alhamdulillah, I enjoyed that job, till I got my old job. Actually, I wouldn’t accept it, if had to leave my son alone. In this job, I still can accompany him at school. We will never know what Allah plans to us

I think you took the right move, it also depends on stress level, financial level of families , how much people they can afford each thing ,your son was too young and needed you ,and you were there ,What could be more great 🙂 and you got chance to explore more of your writing skills and we got a new author 🙂 isn’t it a win win situation? I am not a mother yet but if circumstances come up to let go of career I would do so as well 🙂

Masha’Allah sis. Thank you for the support and the kind words. Exactly, for the first five years at least, the baby needs insha’Allah. And financials are in good shape alhamdullilah so I decided not to be greedy and make my exit :).

I find you very inspiring. I am glad you took the decision to do what you think is best. Dua and Istikhara is key and then you leave the rest to Allah subhanahu wa taala.
Raising children is such a beautiful thing to do and many people underestimate the blessing of doing so.
May Allah reward you abundantly and grant what He believes is best for you.

Mashaa allah, only you can know whether or not you made the right decision for you and your family. I made the same decision for my family, I am a stay at home mom with two toddlers and hopping to homeschool, because the rate of school shootings is one too many for my liking ;).
