Assalamu aleikum dear bloggers,
So where am I with this project? Well, early this year, I wrote this post https://papatia.wordpress.com/2014/01/17/how-to-start-reading-al-quran-kerim-without-embarassement/. But I started my journey a little earlier than that; 2011 to be precise. Slowly, I made small progress along the way and today I can read in the Quran masha’Allah with a few difficulties. But I’m not easily discouraged, and I take it as a great privilege that I can read something in this Noble Book. I am also happy I saw this day because of this hadeeth-sherif below, masha’Allah.
With curveballs year-round and mundane distractions we face as Muslims in these times, it’s a challenge to stay on track and realize all our Ibadat goals. I recently saw somewhere on a post that we are modern day martyrs and I agree. I think I am going to start using that word 😉 . So, as a ”modern day martyr”, it took me a while to finally read the Holy Book descended upon us during Ramandan centuries ago.
My goal for this month is to finish Suratul Baqarah and to continue reciting Suratul Ya-sin every Friday Allah allows for my late father and other people in the Ummah that passed away. Like the Muslimah mommy said in her following post http://themuslimahmommy.com/2014/07/04/the-muslimah-mommys-tips-for-mothers-during-ramadan/ , have realistic goals during Ramadan.
When I am done with Al-Baqarah, I will dive deeper for other surah and reread the Surah I already know in the Qur’an insha’Allah. I am excited! 🙂 May Allah grants us the knowledge, strength, diligence to pursue and realize our religious goals in this life insha’Allah, amiin.
Jazak’Allah Khair for reading,

Alhumdullilah that is really good. I met a sister the other day who reverted a year ago, and it was only recently she memorised Surah Fatiha; listening to her was beautiful. Wise you all the best you Modern day Matyr 😉 x
